It will be five weeks ago this Thursday that Matt went in for a lateral release and arthroscopy on his left knee. He has been doing ok with it. He is still not able to fully bend his knee. He is at 78 degrees when he should be able to bend it 130 degrees. He still does not have full range of motion and his knee is still swollen. He is still having to use a cane. He has been going to physical therapy three times a week and icing and elevating his knee at home.
We went to the doctor this morning for a follow up visit. His doctor said that he has never seen a case like this. By this point, Matt should have full range of motion and should be able to do everyday activities. So, tomorrow morning at 5:30 am, Matt will have to go back under and the doctor is going to clean out any scar tissue and drain the excess fluid. We are hoping that this will help. Matt will follow up with his PT on Friday and then we are headed to MS. Please pray that the surgery will go well and that Matt won't be miserable riding in the car on Friday.
I will try and keep you updated on his progress. Thanks for your concern and prayers.
