This afternoon we headed to Petsmart to pick out our newest family member.

On the way home we asked Carson to pick out a name for his new fish. At first, his name was just 'fish', then he decided he wanted to name him Lightening McQueen. As soon as we got home he was so excited to help daddy get Lightening McQueen's new home all ready. I didn't realize fish had personalities, but Lightening sure does! We put Lightening beside the tank (in the container he was in from the store) and as soon as Matt started pouring the water in the tank, he got really excited and started swimming all around. Every time we go in to see him he swims to the front of the tank. Sometimes, if we slide our finger across the glass he will follow. We did a little research about our beta fish and learned that they are actually pretty smart fish. Over time he will be able to recognize our faces and our voices. Pretty cool, huh?
